I think the agency (Ogilvy) figured that if I could direct a chimp...I could direct a baby...? I'm so happy they saw the connection...

We constructed these miniature sets on a sound stage in Vancouver, BC. Everything was scaled to the babies size and we ended up having to crawl into these four foot high sets that had complete ceilings in some cases. There was a lot of bumping of heads on things..

"Hotnight Crash"

Back in the standard definition days, it was always somewhat heartbreaking to take your beautiful super 35mm neg, and transfer it down to NTSC 640x480 (720x486) resolution. This one was fun, because we composed a lot of shots wide, and then pushed in on the negative during telecine/color correction to create a tighter shot. This created some interesting editorial opportunities, as well as having more pronounced film grain structure in the pushed-in shots. DaVinci Color and URSA Diamond wonderfulness by Dave Hussey from Company 3 LA. Shot this with Martin Ahlgren, ASC at the Poodle Parlor in LA.
